Gianna trying to walk

We spent the 26th playing with all sorts of new Christmas Toys!!! Here is a video of Gianna trying to learn to walk....she is not anywhere close to walking on her own or being able to stand unassisted, but it is fun to watch her try new things!

Gia's 1st Christmas!

Christmas was amazing this year. It is so different to see Christmas through a baby's eyes. Gia was soo spoiled by everyone (so thank you everyone who gave her gifts, they are appreciated).  She was such a trooper- first we had Christmas at home...Gia got a few toys from mom and dad. Then it was off to Grammy and Grandpa's house for a lot of toys and clothes....she was having so much fun ripping open the paper (and trying to eat it). We then went to Mimi and G-Paw's house, where she had more toys to open! By this point she was on stimulation overload. I know she loved everything but she was in desperate need  of a nap. She slept in the car on the way to Gainey and Grandan's house, where she was then ready to play (and dance) with Carson and Warren!

We get such a kick out of watching her interact with other babies...it was a blast. From the Christmas presents to sharing toys and wresting over cheerios! The day was a ton of fun. Gia loves all of her presents and was 100% exhausted by the end of the day!

We were fortunate enough to have an amazing friend (who is also very talented with the camera) offer to take some family photos. Just thought we would share a few...

Thank you Moe Saurenman and IMS Photography!

Christmas with Nana and Grandpa

We spent the weekend in Merced, CA. Christmas came early for Gianna! She got to open presents from Nana and Grandpa....she LOVED the paper, had the time of her life ripping the paper and trying to eat the paper and bows! Nana and Grandpa gave Gia a musical push scooter. She is obsessed with "dancing/bouncing" to the music and she loves to stand and hold onto the back it. Here are a few pics. Thank you Grandpa and Nana!

New Play Mat

Now that we have a standing and crawling machine....we have to watch her every move! Mimi and G-paw bought a mat to help cushion the hard wood floors when Gia falls. This is day one on her new play mat.

something was upsetting her in this picture (she doesn't have the best poker face).

She sure does love music...especially the piano.

Dancing Queen!

Standing up!

Gia has learned how to stand! On December 3, 2011 we went into her room to check on her (she was supposed to be taking a nap) and this is what we discovered! She does know how to crawl...however she is much more interested in pulling herself up to a stand. She uses anything and everything. our dresser, the dogs, our knees, coffee tables, fireplaces....let the baby proofing begin.

As for the crawling, she knows how to crawl and will do so when there is something she REALLY wants....other than that, she figures it is not really worth the effort. ha ha someone is stubborn (wonder who she got that from??)

Catching up....

It has been a few weeks since our last update....

Thanksgiving weekend:
We had a fun and successful first Thanksgiving! Daniel and I both commented that there could be nothing better than a baby who can actually eat solid foods being able to enjoy Thanksgiving. We gave Gia: stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, turkey, cranberry relish (no sugar), and Dave gave her a TINY taste of pumpkin pie! Man oh man was she a happy girl. haha.

After thanksgiving we had house guests. Nana, Grandpa Tony, Uncle Victor and Cousin Adrian came down from Merced to visit. We had such a fun weekend putting up the Christmas decorations.

Pictures with Santa!
Gianna had her first encounter with Santa Clause! She wore her "Santa Rocks" attire. We expected some tears (stranger danger)...but to our surprise she was quite comfortable with him.

Happy 1/2 Year Birthday Gianna

Our baby girl is 6 months old!!! Daniel and I are so blessed to have this sweet angel in our lives. We can’t believe that ½ a year has gone by already. She is growing up so quickly.

In six SHORT months she has gone from being a 8lb 9oz sleepy little nugget to a 15 lb 12.1oz, full of energy, solid eating, smiley, ready to crawl, on the move, love bug!

We are amazed by her EVERDAY….she is absolutely the love of our lives.

6 months- November 19, 2011

Politically incorrect….

I know this is totally not “PC” but I had to share this photo. Gianna is looking a bit like a Hasidic jew…. What do you think? See any resemblance? HAHA. Poor kid, mommy was having fun during bath time!

BABYPALOOZA!

Babypalooza- November 19, 2011! What a blast! The babies are all growing up so fast (too fast)....Daniel and I are so thankful that we all make time to get together. Gia absolutely loves her cousins Warren and Carson!! She also loves all her great aunts, uncles and great grandparents. Thank you everyone who came it was a fun day!

Gianna- 6 months (almost)

Daniel's friend and teammate Moe was so generous with his time and talent. He offered to take some pictures of Gia since she is 6 months this month I really wanted to get pictures done. I am so grateful that he offered to take these pictures, he did an amazing job, better than I could have hoped for! Enjoy!

LOVE the look on her face!

Gianna did a face plant into the sand!

Gia's weekend of family and lots of friends!

Gia spent the weekend visiting lots of friends and family.  Saturday we had dinner with Tommy and Christy (Daniel's uncle and wife) and their 4 kids, Katie, Addison, Brooklyn and Cole.  Cole and Gia rolled around for hours together :).  Sunday, Daddy had 2 bike races in Ontario, so Gia cheered him on and hung out with her new friend, Molly. Molly is the daughter of Stephanie and Chris, who is Daniel's friend and race teammate. Molly was such a GOOD babysitter...we told Steph and Chris that Molly needs a baby sister to take care of!

Gianna's First Halloween

Gianna dressed up as a pumpkin for Halloween this year...not the most creative costume in the world, but we knew it was something she would never want to be again...can't you imagine a 12 year old girl saying "mom i want to be a big fat orange pumpkin for Halloween??" She was the cutest pumpkin in town though!

Growing up too fast!

AHHH our baby girl is growing up too fast! On Saturday (October 29, 2011) she decided she was going to attempt to crawl!! She is strong enough to make it up on all fours and she rocks back and forth (she gets going pretty fast). She has not taken her first step/crawl yet...she attempted and lost balance and did a face plant a few times, but we know it's only a matter of time before she will be "on the move."

This weekend we also discovered that she is getting her FIRST TOOTH!! Ouchy! It has broken the surface. It's the bottom front (her right one). Her mood has been a little "off" for the past couple of days, nothing too major but a bit fussy/cranky. She has had a runny nose, and some sleepless nights. Her appetite has also decreased- she is not very interested in nursing right now. She is finding a LOVE for frozen teething toys...we have one in the freezer at all times, and as long as she has one to play with she is a happy camper.

Pumpkin Carving with Cousins!!

Friday, October 28th Daniel, Gia and I went to the Lefebvre house for the annual pumpkin carving contest! It was a BLAST!! So many babies...Gia was in absolute heaven!!! She of course was so happy to see her favorite boys- Warren and Carson! She was also excited to see Brooke and Brie and meet new friends Link, Chloe and Quinn!  As for the pumpkin carving, Daniel carved a pretty cool pumpkin (a stadium- Candlestick park) while Gianna and I socialized! Thanks for a very fun Friday night Hillary, Gabe and Carson! And a special thanks to Great Aunt Carey for being Mimi's stand-in for the night, Gia loved playing with you too!

Oktoberfest

On October 22, 2011 we went to an Oktoberfest. Gianna was trying to enjoy the festivities by drinking grandpa's diet coke....she didn't have any but she had fun trying (chomping on the side of the cup)!

Peas, Peas, Peas!!!

We have started solid foods!!! First on the list was peas! She seems to like them...well at least she is learning to like them. She has had a small taste of avocado also....see the video below.

Horse Races

We took Gia to Santa Anita on October 21, 2011. Gianna pet a horse for the first time. We were there from 9:30am-4:30pm, she was a just a doll and she had a blast.
